Looking through old projects this morning. This was the most physically demanding self-portrait I’ve ever done. It was for my Hollow Seeds series, and required that my head and torso be buried under the mud. I remember the ice cold water seeping up through the earth, and how hard it was to breathe through a tube. How the weight of the mud on top of me started to push on my lungs and into my ears so that I couldn’t hear. It felt like I was down there for hours. See more at: http://samcannon.co/Hollow-Seeds
