It has many meanings for me. For starters I just really like arrows. They represent strength, direction, and power (all things I could use more of at times) - Also, the arrow is a symbol for the Archer. I am a Sagittarius and have always tried to live up to the positive traits of my suggested personality: artistic, adventurous, independent, romantic - however, it is also a reminder of the flaws I need to work on: selfishness, being bossy, committing to things even when I grow bored. The detail in the arrow head is a small Celtic knot. I’m Irish and it was common for Irish warriors to get Celtic arrows tattooed on their bodies. It was thought to give them power and strength and was a symbol of their connection to one another. The last bit of meaning in my tattoo are the feathers at the tail. I like to think of one as my mother (her nickname is bird) and the other my sister (passed away a few years ago) - both there to guide me through the tough times. My bird and my angel.
I really love my tattoo though and am really glad I went through with it. It’s a constant reminder of so many positive ideas.
